I have to agree. No inovation there. Google did not create this market like many people seem to believe. I remember when webcrawler was the shit.

    Re: No monopolies

What monopoly? Sorry but there are other OS options out there. The problem is that software vendors are making those options less viable by not porting apps over to them. You can't blame MS for this. You are free to switch to OSX and the various flavors of Linux. If there software base was not there for Windows then this would be a whole different ballgame.

    Re: LOL

To be honest I am looking for an alternative to Google right now. At this point I'd gladly switch to MS search if they are just as good. I may dislike MS for a few things but at this point I dislike Google much more. Lesser of two evils.

    Just an FYI.

ABC News ran a Nightline special about the Patterson Cell on February 7, 1996. Copies of the show can be obtained from ABC at 1-800-913-3434

    Re: Thermodynamics...pft

Exactly. Plus we pretend to know more than we actually do about physics. Back in 1995/96 I saw a demo of a similar device called the PAterson Cell. The inventor and 4 independant researchers from major universities involved in various types of alternative energy research. He furnished them with the plans to build their own devices for testing. 3 out of the 4 researchers had teh devices built and working as advertised. There even honest enough to admit the fact that it seemed to be working yet they had no idea how or why it was working. The 4th researcher refused to even build the thing claiming it was pure bunk. His attitude was very disapointing. I hope his is frame of mind is not the norm. It will hold us back.

Where do they make their money?

Concerts! I'm impressed with this move by Prince. I always felt they should use the CD's as a promotional piece. The artists make most of their money from concerts. The record lables are the ones that make a killing from CD sales. The artists only get a small fraction of the CD profits. Tell me again why stars like Prince and others need to be with a lable? I'm sure he has more than enough money have his own recording studio and pressing CD's is dirt cheap. The artists can sever their ties with their lables and make much more money. I pref buying stuff at concerts since I know the artists are the ones who mainly profit from those sales. The stores are only upset because someone finally is showing them their days are numbered. They are a dieing breed and they are trying to appear relevant.

    This in infuriating

Thes SOBs want to silence the american peopel. They have to know talk radio is market drivem which means the PEOPLE are the ones that choose what shows are onthe air not the radio stations or the commentators.

I'm getting ready to move to another country and at first I felt sad about it. It's a move I am not doing because I want to. But as I see more and more of this shit going down I am realizing the country I group in is almost gone anyway.

"And once people have the phone, might not some of them, oh I don't know, buy music on iTunes? Be more likely to buy a Mac? "

LOL!!!! Oh man you had me on the floor laughing after reading that. Are you THAT far gone? Who the hell buys a computer based on their phone purchase? The only people who will buy a Mac are those who want one. They will not buy a Mac just because they are in line to by the iPhone.

    Re: Re: Iphone

LOL!!! Is that why most REAL businesses run either Windows, Unix, Linux, or a mix of them? Very few (I've never actually seen one in my 15 years in the IT indsutry) use Apple. Very few have an apple machine in the building being used for business. Why the hell would they? Most of the hard core and worth while business apps are written for Windows and Unix/Linux.

    Re: Cost

Sorry but the cost of the drugs have nothing to do with the cost of making them. They cost so much because WE are willing to pay these inflated prices. Look in other countries and compare the prices. We are charged MUCH more than peopel in other countries. Do not fool yourself. The drug companies suffer just as much from greed as every other company which sells us things we simply can not live with out. When asked about this the drug companies never have a good reason for the inflated prices.

I am soo greatful I rarely get sick. Even more greatful I haven't gotten sick enough to have to take a trip to the ER. Sicko may be one sided but the facts it brought to light speak for themselves. We are the richest nation in the world (well not if you take a look at a neat little film called Maxed Out) yet we are raped on a daily basis by medical insurance companies and the medical system in general.

  • Mr. Google Goes To Washington

    norman619 ( profile ), 21 Jun, 2007 @ 09:07am

    This is rediculous

My god is Google in need of a swift kick in the nads. They should STFU and focus on creating a better search then the native Vista search. But no they'd rather try to get MS to water down theirs to make teh existing subpar Google offering look better. I think I am now on my way to look for an alternative searcg engine. Google has become too much of a bitch for me to stomach.

To illustrate how bad things have gotten in that game world. Places of worship have been truned into places of conflict and death. It's pretty obvious. It's a very powerful contrast and plot device when used properly.

  • Despite Resistance From DOJ, Google Pressing New Antitrust Case Against Microsoft

    norman619 ( profile ), 11 Jun, 2007 @ 12:06pm

This is pure 1st class BS

How the hell is MS hurting Google? Symantec and the other crybaby vendors had a better agument and they too were full of BS. Google apps install just fine under Vista and run fine too. How is MS keeping them from competing? Google wants MS to make their applications more appealing to users. I fail to see how that is a MS job. If I were MS I'd push to let this case go forward then when Google is proven to be full of shit move to have Google pay for MS legal fees.
