  I think you are right. The real violations here are when the spammers falsely use other email addresses, rent botnet armies and lie about what they are selling. These are already illegal and carry higher penalties than the spam laws in many cases.
  
  Yet another case where the law already exists to lock up the miscreants. If some would just do something simple like extend the mail fraud laws to spam it would make enforcement easier.

  The guy steering the bus is still Bush. The congress can't do tons to really stop him. It's too late to impeach him they can just not fund things he wants to do.

  The supreme court will get a crack at this when someone actually gets prosecuted and convicted using evidence obtained from this program. Of course they may never use this evidence in a prosecution.

  As I understand it the problem with customs is that you aren't really in the country yet. So there is no such thing as unreasonable search and seizure. They can inspect anything that they want including the hard drive. Consider yourself lucky if they only copy the drive and not hold the computer for inspection.
  
  It should make drive encryption utilities like TrueCrypt and Bit Locker very popular with world travelers.

  Yep. Even if he was right he diminishes his own original argument and comes off as just another right wing radio nutter. It would be the same as attacking any political organization as a racketeering organization for organizing a boycott.

  Unfortunately the winner is the one that will have media that can be shown on the device. If no one makes HD DVD movies and most of the studios make blu-ray movies HD DVD is doomed in the player wars.

  Yep if it wasn't that Verizon has great coverage in the places I go I would be gone. They mess up phones with great features and wonder why everyone hates them.
  
  I want my count down timer back on my LG. It is still on the Sprint version of the phones. Hopefully they will stop mucking about with the software like they claim will.

  They haven't gotten information up for this year yet but you can see the past offerings at the web site. My local shop took it as an opportunity to clear out the back room from things that they overbought.

  I live outside DC where through the miracle of elections and foreign embassies they dump the worst drivers in the world. Besides that and population density we are fortunate to have one of top five bad commutes in the country. We are generally fortunate if the highway speeds are near forty at rush hour.

  They run into the problem of not having different definitions for the type of road you are traveling on. They need to include things like speed limits and road size into the calculations of routes.
  
  This is the next generation of data. Perhaps the google picture car will pick up on this when it drives through the neighborhood.

  70 MPH as a safe speed on a street controlled by a traffic light. I don't think so. Besides that is atleast 15MPH over the speed limit around here- More likely 35 MPH over. You should be getting a ticket for something at those speeds on a surface road.
