  It's and arms race.

  I was floored this month learning, that personal vehicles in US are weighing as much as most cargo trucks where I'm from. This information was only a part of statistical analysis showing how fatal crashes between two vehicles were in USA, depending on each of their weights. Unsurprisingly, being involved in a crash with a heavier vehicle is more fatal and therefore the US car owners seem to be in a literal arms race against each other. Now think of other traffic participants - the ones without several tonnes of metal around them. This arms race has to stop. It easily tramples over most safety endeavors towards traffic participants not in cars, and over almost any ecological efforts regarding personal mobility.

  What makes the insightful winner think, that EU citizens do not already speak with vote? Otherwise I agree with him completely, although unironically. People will rightfully always pick on stupid laws (some of which were actually stopped by EU citizens and had effect on the next elections), but categorizing everything according to worst example(s) is just incredibly disingenuous. Controversially: I like GDPR. Non-controversially: I love being able to reuse my windows licence from the trashed old laptop on the new one.

  Yet every e-shop in EU, no matter how small, manages to be GDPR compliant. Blanket arguments like this have been proven to be false again and again. On the other hand, when things got too "ridiculous" EU citizens did actually stood up. It's almost like some consumer protection laws are actually good for consumers and recognized as such. The free speech reduction argument, however, is just pure BS.

  At these prices I don't see Stadia ever being a wide success. With more than $500 per year it doesn't even beat custom PCs, let alone consoles, which are just as easy to use.
