It is no more bigoted to say that transwomen are men than it is to say that people cannot fly by flapping their arms. Reality does not modify itself to conform to people's wishes.
Woke ideologues seem to believe that "my house, my rules" somehow immunizes those rules from criticism. Except, of course, when they don't like the rules, and then they try to burn the house down.
A woke ideologue literally told me to go away, and I said I would not. It is not "whining" for me to say that I will not leave, and I am not asking the woke ideologue to stop telling me to leave, just criticizing them for doing so. Of course it is woke ideologues who pursue the people they have told to leave and try to get the places they have gone to shut down.
https://www.schools.nyc.gov/school-life/school-environment/guidelines-on-gender/guidelines-to-support-transgender-and-gender-expansive-students "Generally, a student must be permitted to participate in physical education, intramural sports, and competitive athletic activities and contact sports in accordance with the student’s gender identity asserted at school."
I am an atheist. I oppose woke gender ideology because it is false, not because imaginary sky fairies say that it is bad.
Certainly, when those religious people try to force their beliefs on others. We should be fighting for the rights of women (only!) to abort their fetuses without excuse or apology, we should prevent creationism from being taught in public schools, and we should get the mention of gods off of the Pledge of Allegiance, our currency, and our courtrooms. We should not allow Muslim cabdrivers to serve airports if they refuse to take passengers carrying liquor. We should not allow Christians to serve as pharmacists if they refuse to dispense certain drugs. And so on.
As usual, because it is convenient for woke ideologues given that the censorship regime is currently favoring them, woke ideologues confuse the freedom of speech of the platforms and the freedom of speech of the users of those platforms. That the platforms have the free speech right to censor their users does not mean that their users are not being censored and deprived of free speech.
As usual, the woke ideologues who adore the viewpoint-based censorship the big platforms are providing for them are hiding behind the 1st Amendment. That the platforms are legally permitted to perform viewpoint-based censorship does not mean that they should be doing that, or that they can avoid criticism for doing that. Freedom of speech is not defined by the 1st Amendment. The 1st Amendment is a partial implementation of freedom of speech, directed against governments. Freedom of speech is a broader concept, and outsourcing censorship to private companies not bound by the 1st Amendment is a violation of the freedom of speech of the people being censored, distinct from the freedom of speech of the censors.
Yes, I understand that woke ideologues would like to silence their opponents, or at least chase them off. I think I'll continue to stay and speak up.
I'm not playing the victim - I don't care that people flag my posts, since people interact with me anyway. I am just pointing out that this sort of flagging is useless. If Techdirt were sufficiently popular, for example, you would have competing waves of bots trying to flag comments opposed by one side or another. It's just an internet poll, and internet polls are always gamed. As it is, it's an echo chamber of the woke flagging anyone who disagrees with them.
https://www.sidley.com/en/insights/newsupdates/2022/05/federal-appeals-court-holds-sec-administrative-proceedings-are-unconstitutional The SEC oversteps its constitutional authority anyway.
Trans people deserve the same rights as anyone else - the freedom to believe anything they wish, and a prohibition against forcing their beliefs on anyone else. Woke gender ideology demands that everyone be compelled to affirm those false beliefs, and that's why it should be fought.
That's how capitalism is supposed to work - we're supposed to sell our enemies the rope with which they'll hang us. The political system under which they're thriving is supposed to have freedom of speech. That's why they should support freedom of speech. And no, freedom of speech is not limited to the 1st Amendment.
A person's sex is observed and noted at birth, or often earlier. That a small percentage of people develop a delusion that their body is the wrong sex does not change the fact that their sex has been correctly noted. We should not allow people to change their sex designation in a way that requires others to allow them into single-sex spaces for which their bodies disqualify them. Understanding that people believe in a false ideology is not the same as hating those people. Correctly understanding that gods do not exist does not mean hating religious people. It does mean pushing back hard on attempts by religious people to force others to affirm their beliefs. Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and vegetarians can choose not to eat bacon cheeseburgers. They should not be permitted to force the cafeteria to stop serving bacon cheeseburgers.
You are using the fact that a service that claims to be evenhanded is lying as proof of what? That other services that you also claim are evenhanded are not lying? The existence of Fox News and their slogan is proof that you should judge by actions, not claims.
The post by the Babylon Bee giving Dr. Rachel Levine its Man of the Year award.
When people actually voted with their feet and went elsewhere, as the woke ideologues here suggest, they were pursued and shut down at their new site. So when woke ideologues say that it's not censorship when people can go elsewhere to speak, they are lying. It is censorship, and the woke ideologues think the people they're censoring deserve to be silenced.
Political speech is not academic debate. It exists to effect changes in policy, against opposition. It's part of a war. As such, if being brash and obstreperous works, then that will be used. Decrying effective speech by opponents as being beyond the pale is just part of the same war.

The Projection Is Strong
1. The right to say anything, as abhorrent it might be. Roughly accurate, but not extending to spam, personal harassment, or literal racism and hate speech. (The real thing, not as defined by woke ideologues.) 2. The right to impose their speech on any audience. False. Instead, not to have platforms censor their speech, so that people who want to hear it may. 3. The right to not be criticized back. False. Of course, all three of these things are what woke ideologues demand.
