It's not all that muckin fuch, i watched the first and quickly lost interest. It is pretty much a mid-evil soap opera.
"censorship was not in their minds"

I've been thinking that myself
Very much so, I even reported them to Badware for including a pup installer in a piece of freeware hosted on their site, no opt out, just a silent install that took the better part of an afternoon to cleanup.
I'm 64 and I still play. I love GTA pretty much all flavors. Still, I seem to be able to go out in public and neither gun down or run over my fellow citizens.
"real causes like Gun Control and Mental Health"
I realize the NRA started the rift by blaming video games, but weapons don't kill, any more than cars do. Falling rocks do kill though. I'd rather have a gun in my hand than a cop on the phone.
Same for the other "Wars on _____", The War on drugs escalated a minor infraction by a bunch of hippies to a full fledged conflict involving cartels and billions of $$, The war on poverty seems to have escalated that as well, when that started there were a damnsite fewer street people than there are now.
"CDC stands for "Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."
I thought that was;
The Centers for Disease Creation and Propagation.
I'm content to let that one slide, it isn't basic. I'd be happy if people could get lose and loose, and your and you're

It won't keep them off the wifi, they will be in the park across the street with a "Pringles can" antenna.
Home schooling. Works like a charm. Guaranteed to make your children socially inept & whatever the opposite of street smart is.
AND, they need to use Mafiaa math, and count everyone who might have possibly bought a phone as a lost sale.
I totally agree, I'm a child of the Cold War, and grew up listening to Bob, I couldn't wait for his latest. Now I've had time to reflect, he was a bigger part of the problem than the fat cats he mocked. He now is the establishment, and he is good at it. Just sad, that's all.
I'd say it was about 2009, & as stated in my other post, if I wanted a computer for Grandma, it would be my first choice. She'd never figure out how to screw it up.
I'd also love to put a few clients on Ubuntu, unfortunately business apps generally require windows, you're damn lucky if they work with that, and that's just the reality of life.

I suspect it might just be the tip of the iceberg. The decision to discontinue IGoogle, is pissing me off considerably. Their logic that smart phones cover that base, hardly matters to desktop computer users. It is their ball, and if they want to take it and go home, so be it, but if a new kid shows up with a new ball, don't be surprised if the kids go to play with them from now on.
Won't that just move the servers offshore?
I'd be looking for an Email service that didn't send me a bill in a heart beat.
