best comment yet - that relegated one ;)
we dont need no stinkin prior art!!
actually.. can you send some of that prior art over? ;p
this is the patent i just mentioned:
http://digg.com/environment/Energy_Crisis_SOLVED_Revealed_in_Patent
friggin awesome!
yang, the human intercoursee one probably sounds like a joke but im really going to do this ;) i just saw a patent granted in 2006 on a free energy device (motor spins generator, generator powers motor!), so its pretty obvious the patent office will allow anything nowdays..
Mike, your note about
"the input area... may not be minimized, maximized, or deleted."
doesnt matter, because that is in an independent claim. notice that almost all the claims are dependent on claim 1 or a chain off of it, but the last claim is standalone and doesnt depend on 1 or any others.. so he is probably claiming that apple is infringing one of the other claims instead of this one.
of playing with legos when we were kiddos... when one of us made something sorta cool, we would yell PATENTED and nobody else could copy it. i guess its about the same thing.
oh ans infringing contraptions were SMASHED
I shall rule the world when my reproductive intercourse patent is granted. I dont think any of you are infringers, but there are plenty out there... oh yes
i just had the best idea - class action suits should include a lotto to pick one or just a few members of the affected class to become the beneficiaries of the settlement! how bout that for making class action sexy again!
if there is any chance of confronting ms's patents, someone will have to stand up to them and face a challenge from MS. If they can survive a legal battle and invalidate some or all of ms' ip, everyone will benefit from it. otherwise it will strengthen their claims, and who knows how valid the claims really are until they are challeneged.
another thing about touch screens - why do people think it is more ergonomic (than a mouse for example)? have you tried holding your hand(s) suspended over a surface for any amount of time? imagine working like this for a whole day? youll be begging for a mouse.
ive always thought having two mice hooked up, with two pointers that can grab and stretch stuff etc... would be cool. prolly more practical too. and no finger smudges!
im thinking some cool games could be based on such.
remember where you saw it first ;)
Fruit maps = type "san fran" in google maps
..some unpaid intern winds up doing the actual work/code/etc
you could probably find instances of any country outsourcing to any other country... going to be a low bidder somewhere. ive heard of indian firms outsourcing to the US.
but i hope this grows, mexico needs an ecnomy boost so badly.
12k sounds like a lot, but if you even spend your own time on it, considering a decent software person can bill almost 1k per day, that only allows for 12 days of one person's time to put something together... nada mucho.
of course he probably didnt spend 12k physical dollars... or at least i hope not ;)
Ive called 911 a number of times, from cell phone, and strange thing is they ask what city im calling from/for... i guess that should do the trick for voip as well?
blue dude - i used *legal* tax avoidance measures to avoid paying just under half of my income from last year. dont you dare call tax evasion evil. stealing my very hard earned income to pay for God knows what IS evil. Sure, you education is a good cause.. but why am i forced to pay for it whether i want to or not. But as a law-abiding citizen i pay what I must, but not a cent more.
please excuse me while i get back to work on a sunday so i can continue paying for your schooling
still waiting on my human reproductive activities patent to issue... not that anyone here need be concerned about infringing ;)
due diligence
yes i remember as a wee boy (last week) being told that you had to do a thorough search and fully document your whole invention process in a special binder book and date everything.. oh and build a real working prototype, in order to even think about applying for a patent. wow...
