  • 96% of Congressmen Agree: Bad Legislation Is Easier To Craft In Secret

    A Monkey with Attitude ( profile ), 12 Dec, 2011 @ 10:05am

I wonder if this is not a reaction to all issues the last 2 administrations have done. G.W. Bush and Obama have been cranking up the powers/controls/regulation on all aspects of the citizens (and non-citizens) for at least 12 years (or longer depending on how you wish to look at it). Their (and Congress's whose approval rate sit at ~13% combined) actions have made people dissatisfied with all of them.

Under Bush people thought (and saw in the election) that the Democrats where the safe haven from the Over-reaching, strong-arm, plutocrats in the Republican party (patriot-act anyone?). Then the middle (which holds no allegiance to 1 party or the other) ran to the other side.

Now we have Obama and his actions (some by his administration, some by Congress, and some by things out of control, NOBEL) have people saying "Oh crap, they are all the same! We now have Over-reaching, Strong-arm, Socialist" thus the Tea-Party's (love or hate them) start barn storming and raising a voice. They win the House back, and went quiet(and gridlock Congress, or so was the hope). Now OWS steps out on the stage (love or hate them) and people see the same things happening, the Rich buy influence (even most of the Candidates that said they would be different) and with the stroke of a pen, individual liberties disappear...No voice from the people, Just Special Interest, Big Biz, Big Media, and Entertainment

So of course this kind of Legislation comes about, to make it easier to control these mass's that think "they know better than the elected" and pushing the mass more and more to the point the Congress/President (I hope) is trying to avoid, an actual revolution (either at the ballot box or armed)... both mean they lose their comfy job and worse their power.

People do not believe in either party (just different sides of the same Poop Lollypop) and they are starting to not believe in Congress or the President, or the police.... and it scares them... So break out the military its going to be a long crystal night...

Industrial Military complex - Karl Marx turn of phrase...No Dogma needed, much about a person can be learned by the turns of phrase they use

It is not social welfare, but rather corporate welfare that is killing us slowly... - 37% of the total budget was social welfare... and growing the Obamacare hasn't even started yet.. Source see above post

Corporate Welfare - is part and particle to current mind sets of those in government, and we most likely agree to end it (in fact i would make them pay it back)

"LOL, and how do you explain the prosperity and growth under Clinton in the 90's when tax rates were at a much higher level and the decline in both growth and prosperity under Bush II? Me thinks you may need to go back and study that chapter more closely..."

Proven - Reagan Tax policy worked - www.house.gov/jec/fiscal/tx-grwth/reagtxct/reagtxct.htm

OK ill go to the Clinton Tax Level if you go back to the Gingrich Spending levels (adjusted it would put us 200 Billion in the black) - Suggested by Alan Greenspan (http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/04/would_you_accept_clinton_tax_r.html)

The flat tax is a scam to reduce the tax rate for the top 1% while increasing the taxes for everyone else. Couple that with the fact that as a total of income a Janitor might have to greatly sacrifice and go without while that multinational CEO would not have his/her life effected at all. -
I didnt say Flat Tax I said Fair Tax which are very different, 1 is a system like the present, the other (Fair Tax) is a consumption tax, so the billionare that buys a fancy car or plan will pay much higher taxes than a janitor (that is refunded for any purchase necessary for life, food, drugs, and the like). (Fairtax.org)

So before you start your babble know your facts.. i put my sources...

    Hmmm... Lets try some facts...

    Pensions/Health Care/Welfare (of the 2011 budget, spending) 59%
Defense - 25% (including 3 armed conflicts, agreed or not)

    Source - www.usgovernmentspending.com

All for cutting, but make it across the board... because if your just going to cut defense

Re: Re: Re: Jack Daniels Explains The Deficit

nice socialist turns of phrase... How about we cut Medicare/Medicade/SS they are the 3 biggest drains to the treasury while we are at it... but oh wait you said we need to make them bigger... so i guess taxes is the only way? Hmmm even though its been historically show Government revenues actually decrease with tax hikes..... So how about we meet in the middle scrap current tax laws and make a truly fair system, the FAIR TAX... oh wait it cuts Government power...

Definition of fair is everyone pays the same.. not some pay more and others pay nothing... and as a "collective" how can you not agree? Everyone pays the same...

    Re: Re: Re:

nope y'all failed long ago, that's why you need idiotic laws to prop up the failure that is the recording industry for a bit longer...

Now let me help clue you in, the internet and the web-walkers that understand it will be disrupted for about 10 minutes by what you purpose, then the internet (as is its nature) will route around the problem (IE stupidity caused by Ass-hats)... that's the nature of the beast, how it was made, you don't blame the lion for killing the zebra. So what will happen is the recording industry will keep pushing and pushing because the last law didn't go far enough, and will keep passing step after step of lock down on the internet, in America (home of the free, irony anyone), till the average users that grew up with the internet in its present very happy configuration consider broken, then they will look for who kill golden goose, and there lo and behold will sit big content with feathers still in its mouth and the the legislators that they bought to do it... then the wheels come off as they say and a extreme reaction to it will happen, I figure it will be total kill off of IP / Copyright, and then you will truly be done... you will have bought maybe 2 - 3 years of further survival before extinction.

There is one other path that does not lead to total destruction of IP (Copyright and all the rest) but we will have to see if you ever even try (and thus will be judged).... Or acknowledge a different way besides name calling/labeling/lying/bribing

LOVE IT, so when "our" side does something you don't like do we get to use the line "Don't blame me for your side's apathy and inaction"

Now to the rest of your stupidity... Riddle me this batman, when the internet breaks, and the people are pissed, and all the technologist point to the Labels/Paid-for-Congressman/and shilltards like you as the reason little Timmy cant do a book report (and we wont fix it until your gone) what do you do then? Remember sparky "the people" you trample today will eventual get tired of the treatment, I would tell you to ask Qaddafi about it, but i doubt you have a hot line to hell to ask the question...

Define illegal... something you don't like or understand is not illegal.. But you all seem to like to write laws to make things you don't like or understand illegal (or just to create a "legal" protectionist racket)

You say Pirate, because its a hot button, but define what it means... File sharing = pirate - Gosh that doesn't added up.. But you have to come up with something to call them to de-humanize and make it sound bad, when in reality it is far far different...
