  • US Citizen Facing 15 Years In Jail For Linking From His Blog To An Unauthorized Bio Of Thai King

    A Monkey with Attitude ( profile ), 11 Oct, 2011 @ 10:00am

I think what is most annoying is that the USA plays the "Our law trumps your law", and Thailand plays the game but the only ones that ever lose are the innocent citizens caught between... so the people that really matter (the citizens, that drive the economy and make it possible to have a country in the first place) are getting screwed so the "government" can play big dick games.

GEE cant have a conversation with out "Kiddie Porn"... Yet you want to engage in meaningful debate... oh wait, no you don't you just want to trumpet you spent a lot of money to get a President of the USA to try and go around the Constitutional Mandate of Congressional Approval for a Treaty to make your delusion of how to stop your failing business legal. I applaud that you did what the Buggy Whip Companies could not, but then again they had morals you I am coming to the conclusion that anyone in the record business or Lawyers do not, along with any idea how real business works (beside lobby for laws that are neither legal/moral/or helpful)... instead of Boycott Wall Street we need to point them at the Record Company Fat Cats that are using the Money to try and screw them and their kids for a sense that they are entitled to even more money because they are a middleman and natural law says middlemen should be paid billions for doing nothing but lobby for more laws...

and FYI sunshine before you point it out the USTR works for the Executive Branch, and therefore the President...

    Re:

Except 1 big point in the whole thing i think alot of people missed.

If the kid crossed the line to harassment, and threats, or "sexual miss-conduct" laws already exist to prevent that type of behavior. Why the "special" law? If he did cross the line and could be charged with any of the other 3 the Police/DA would have done so. They made a choose not to, so now they will try to push this new law, with little to no case law to back it up in an attempt to make it easier next time (and the next)...

Something on the Legal side of things is fishy... anyway you look at it and they are trying to ruin a 15 year old's life in the process...

My my how far we have fallen...

And the Movie Apologist and Movie Industry will keep calling me a pirate and thief (because they didn't make the money they thought they should). I made the choice not to watch the crap sammiches they keep calling good movies and going to overpriced room with sticky floors and uncomfortable seats and you call it a good experience.

I have broken no law, yet you call me a criminal.
I have spoken nothing but truth, yet you call me a liar.
I have downloaded nothing, but I am a thief.

Here is a hint, if you want my MONEY for your WORK, don't treat me like shit, or use extortion (Government Guns)....

Actually try work in why your customers say you fail (they are voting with their wallets and their downloads)...

Really? I guess if you sell online its not "real" work? I guess Amazon and Google and all of the rest don't actually work or make any products... amazing..

Now i have to shut down my production department and tell them we are just grifters anyway, so no need to make products and/or offer service, magically the money will just fall in the ole' coffers... Or is that how this bill will work, i can shut down my factories and get money?

Technically the money your so proud that the Government can just print is all based on Faith...

And and no faith at all, just look at the cold hard numerical facts from the reports, i recommend a compare and contrast of say Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton (the years, look at tax rates vs revenue vs GDP, as one simple comparison)

But oh wait your married to the idea of BIG Government and print our way free... no room for debate or free thought... le sigh...

LOL your a cute troll... Lets take things all the way to the other side...

Everyone's a prisoner, Law enforcer, Military agent, criminal, slave, or overseer... Orson would be proud of you... Bread now coasts 200 million dollars, and you stand in long lines to get it. (Hmmmm sound like anywhere else in history? if not i would recommend a basic class in History)

Its fun to play the game...

Back to reality, no one advocated zero taxes, but as all true analysis shows (not your website, with a DNS Server listing as Antichrist. and Christ.) a point is reached with tax level and economic output where things level out (and the Government reaches maximum revenues). This isn't the high side or the low side, but some where in the middle. Given the current crunch right now you need to boost the Economic output, so you lower the taxes, allow the economy time to ramp up, then you begin to incrementally raise taxes if needed (dependent on spending), now if you as the government are spending less (why all the pork-barrel spending? creates no jobs), you do not need the revenue, or maybe you want it to pay down the debt much quicker, you can do this and while economic output will be retarded, it would be considered a bump in the road as you made sure to do this only when things are moving along robustly.

You problem right now comes in many facets, credit is hard to get, government is murky on regulations and taxes (we know about 5000 new regulations came from our beloved leaders this calendar year), and know really knows what that stupid disaster of a health care reform will cost (14 trillion was the last number I have heard). So when things get unstable and murky businesses must hold on to liquid assets (i.e. cash) before making investments in people and the like. A clear message and the backbone to do it would solve about half the problems in economy alone.

Thanks for your input, we will put it where it belongs (Circular Filed, under non-citizen) course neither do the actual citizens so don't feel to bad...

And no most of the economist, I work with for what its worth, agree with you (neither does Greenspan (about the best their is), as he stated on Meet the press yesterday, - Lowering Government expenditures has less negative impact on economy, and many benefits, but raising taxes has a short term improvement in government revenues, but retards the economy both short and long term)

The IMF also doesn't agree with your speaking head economist either.
