So here is a basic question, it would seem one of the basic foundations of the legal/Justic system is broken, when a person committs a crime (lets use something middle of the road first) like bugeral a persons home, gets caught does the 2 years in jail, and 2 years parole, why is it not over and done?
Yes they did something wrong, but they paid for the crime and the same time, why should it keep coming back to bite them again and again when they try and do the right thing (Job, education, whatever). Sure there are somethings an employer should know (if your applying for a job at the pharmacy, they should know you had a problem with drugs, if your applying at a bank, that embezzlement racket should come up) but other than that THEY PAID for what they did, and now the slate should be clean.
WE ARE MAKING THEM COMMIT FURTHER CRIMES WHEN THEY CAN NOT LEGALLY GET OUT OF THE BOTTOM we are putting them in.
Sure this is a happy/nice way to deal with it, but shouldnt we (and we do so love to hold this above everyones head in the world) the pinnicle of a Justice system make this ideal the another foundation and point we strive for, not to create more criminals or worst criminals or a underclass but to give people that make a mistake or bad judgement a chance to go out and succeed?
Would we need to restucture the laws and clean up the details - SURE but everything worth doing is never easy, nor should it be.

Actually given todays standard of law and the shear volume it is perfectly understandable if someone doesnt know the law.
Simple math (as i know your a simple soul, and we will use America as the focus point):
50 states with (for the sake of argument) with 50 cities in each, plus the dictates at the federal level. That would equal 2501 seperate legal entities capiable of making a law. Now this doesnt count all the counties, municipalities, towns, bergs, and others but gives us a number to start with. And it doesnt count treaties, other nations (as the interwebs hits them all).
So 2501 lawmaking bodies, if each started with 100 laws (and we know they greatly exceed that by a fair number): you now have 250,100 laws (civil/criminal and the like) if each makes a new law a month (average) that would equal 2501 new laws per month (30,012 per year). in 25 years you would exceed 1 million laws (if the rates stayed the same). America is ~ 200 years old so you could have ~8,000,000 laws
No human on the planet could reasonable expect Judges/Lawyers/Police/Lawmakers to keep track of all of this and its their job. Yet you purupose the average citizen to know it all as well... if you have not found your fault/answer yet, i can not further assist you as your head is planted way to far up someones rectum.
The System works but for a couple of things that have changed... The press are no longer holding the Government to the fire (they seem to choose who the support and bash everyone else) and the People... People are to mired in the political parties and the Parties have pushed laws in place that basically if you want to get elected and change things you need to be in thier bed and rich. And if you run in one of the 2 big parties you get 20% of the vote no matter what (Charles Manson would get 20% because they only care about D or R, name and person mean nothing)
My Example:
Lets say I want to run for Mayor in my hometown of 1 million people. First if I am not from a major party I have to get 100,000 verified signatures (law) this will cost you about 5.00 per signature (this is one of the basic equations a Career Campaign Manager will tell you to bank on for funding). If I want to run as a major party it cost 10K to be on the ballot and various dinner parties and meetings to get them to vote on putting me on their ticket.
Next you need a Campaign Manager (50K per year+ salary), Press Liason (100K+) for thier contacts or the press ignore you, Fundraiser (50-100K) to get money to pay for this crap, OH and lawyer that knows the finance law for campaigns (you get in trouble real quick if you dont, and the law is SUPER COMPLEX) plus office space, plus TV adds, plus Newspaper adds, plus a few private detectives to at least dig into your life to find potential problems (and if you want to bash, to dig into your opposition), Signs (1.00 per sign, 10K minimum buy to get the price down).... Show me the "average person" than can start to shell out the money just to start things.
Then you need 60-80 hours a week (so enough money to keep you family in a house, and food, with out a salary). And this is a minimum of 6 months.
All this for a Job that pays 100K per year.... but you can try and change things, but if you dont stack the council for the city in your favor, what you can do is limited or ignored. And the system will find every way to trip you up and keep change from affecting the flow that feeds them.
I have worked 2 campaigns for others and 1 for myself, and mine nearly broke me (im not rich, and worked my full time job while running a small campaign for a low position)... its hard to do, and I dont blame people for not trying, but if you are going to raise hell about change you need to be willing to help out those who are trying.
