FBI Raids Schools To Stop Dreaded File Sharing
from the really? dept
This article, submitted by John is incredibly weak on details, but claims that a school in Arizona was raided by the FBI in a crackdown on music piracy. It seems worthwhile to wait for the details on this before jumping to conclusions. If there were some sort of mass counterfeiting operation going on, then that's one thing. However, if this was just a regular school where some kids were file sharing, it might seem a bit extreme to send in the FBI, rather than the RIAA's own "enforcement team". Still, the entertainment industry has been pushing hard to get the FBI to do their dirty work for them, and so perhaps this is just an example of that. If anyone has more details, please feel free to share. Update: It appears this is part of a larger FBI operation to stop file sharing. Isn't there, perhaps, some more important things the FBI should be focused on these days?
