What's Next For Online Music?

from the no-one-knows,-but-everyone-has-an-opinion dept

A NY Times article about the Future of Music Policy Summit earlier this week. There are a number of good quotes in the article, but it doesn’t seem like the Summit was full of much constructive conversation. Most of it sounds like each side telling the other side they’re being stupid. There’s a good quote from Representative John Conyers Jr. of Michigan: “The Internet says to the industry that you folks are yesterday’s news, you’re following outdated models, your business strategies don’t work anymore, and your profit motive is showing rather vulgarly.”
