Calling Dr Peabody
Cassette audio quality was always heavily dependent on quality of mexia and hardware. MP3 was an early format compromise.
So the question here is – who still has casette audio tape?

Why do douche bags always think they are so cool because they don’t have any older media?

Re: Calling Dr Peabody
Think outside the box…there’s a whole lot more on cassette than just prerecorded music.
I’ve been digitizing cassettes from my own collection and a friend’s parents’ collection. I don’t bother with the music since 99% of what came out on tape is all commonly available or not worth keeping, but there are other gems in there… old DJ mixtapes, unique radio & TV broadcasts, and priceless family home recordings. I sure wish I could have a cassette recording of my dead relatives’ voices, sounds which live only in my distant memory now. Being able to provide that for my friend is really nice.
Of course you don’t need a specialized piece of hardware like this, but if you no longer have a working cassette deck and don’t want to take a chance on one from a thrift store, I’m sure there’s a market for it, and even if it’s not the greatest, it’ll probably be good enough for the less technically inclined.
