Since we started doing these DailyDirt posts, we’ve seen some interesting links in the comments from various astute readers. So here, we’ve collected a few of them that just shouldn’t stay buried in a comment thread. I think PanaMarketer means that he wants a 3D printer that can print out processors/graphics cards/hard drives/etc… That would be cool, and I think there are researchers working on very simple printed circuit boards — but not full “computers”….

Funny you say that, I just dreamed about a machine I saw once that sucked little electronic pieces and put them in place and imagined a desktop version of it.
Anyways something could be produced using this knowledge how to produce your own microchips Safe HF Etching at Home with an Etch Chamber.

It may not be able to print teeth yet but it can print a lot of stuff already.
About the hacker meetups
There is one more, often overlapping the groups of the hackerspaces. Every first Friday of the month there are 2600 meetups all over the globe.
