RIM One Step Closer To Injunction

In the ongoing legal process with NTP, RIM suffered an setback today when the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit denied RIM’s motion to stay the case, and thus the injunction, pending a decision from the Supreme Court on whether to hear an appeal. That means the case will return first to the lower court that has already ruled against RIM, and ordered an injunction that was promptly stayed. The lower court could enforce the injunction, offer another stay, or reverse its decision. Meanwhile the Patent Office continues to reject the NTP patents upon review — although that appears to be an ongoing process as well.
