Cingular Rumored To Slow Down HSDPA Deployments Too…

Back in March when the news came out that DoCoMo was slowing down its HSDPA deployments, we noted the likelihood that Cingular would need to do the same. So, it should come as no surprise to hear that Cingular’s 3G plans are likely to be delayed. Of course, just like DoCoMo it sounds like they’re trying to deflect the blame off of the technology. The claim is that Cingular “has too many things on its plate” right now. That may be true, but with everyone delaying HSDPA, it certainly hints at troubles with the technology.

HSDPA will be slower than this

My guess is that cingular will fail to meet this reduced commitment.

You have to wonder what is going on with HSDPA. It was supposed to be a relatively simple software upgrade or maybe a line card but not this.

The 3GPP members are failing to execute again. It has become expected. That is not good. WiMAX is hype today but it will be a contender in the future if this lack of execution persists.
