WAPI Gone Again?

The on-again, off-again, on-again plans for a Chinese WiFi security standard called WAPI may finally be off again, as procedural issues have slowed down the standardization process. Glenn Fleishman also notes that China wants WAPI because they’re afraid the US can break the 128-bit key used in 802.11i. Of course, many assume that WAPI also includes some government backdoors for the Chinese.
