Greece Says No More Employer Cyber Snooping

from the it's-a-start dept

Greece, whose main contribution to technology issues over the past few years, unfortunately, has been its decision to ban video games out of an inability to distinguish if someone was gambling on a computer or playing solitaire, has now decided to ban corporate snooping on email. This follows a similar attempt to ban corporate snooping in Australia. Of course, smart companies realize, no matter what the law says, snooping on employees is bad for business, lowering both morale and productivity in one shot — though, maybe some companies are hoping they’ll make it up in the misuse of bandwidth fees they’ll start charging employees.
