Cameras, Microphones And In-Flight Broadband For Hijack Protection
from the it's-an-idea... dept
Boeing, which has been pushing its in-flight broadband offering for a while, is now working on a system that uses the broadband, along with tiny hidden cameras and microphones to beam audio and video of events happening in the plane to a ground crew. The idea, of course, would be that people outside of the plane would have a very good idea of what’s happening in the plane, in the event of a hijack. Of course, some might fear how such a system would be misused, and if hijackers know it exists, they may look for ways to disable it – or to use it to their advantage. Still, on the whole, this doesn’t sound like a bad idea.
