BBC Discovers Social Engineering

from the took-'em-long-enough dept

Social engineering isn’t anything new at all, but clearly, it still works wonders — otherwise many of these scams would have disappeared by now. However, the BBC is now running an article that they probably could rerun every few months without many modifications talking about how spammers use social engineering to get people to open their messages and respond to the spam. This isn’t anything new at all… but the fact that someone needs to write yet another article about it shows just how hard it is for people to keep a skeptical eye towards these things.
