The Family That Phishes Together…

from the gone-phishing dept

Microsoft and Amazon are getting some attention today for teaming up to go after phishing operations that targeted Hotmail users claiming to be from Amazon.com. What seemed most interesting, however, is that one of the supposed phishing scammers we’ve written about before. It was the family that spammed together, who had friends insist they could never be spammers because they’re such nice people. This is also the same family who later claimed to have changed from their spamming ways, and announced that the son who supposedly ran the operation was becoming a rock drummer who would teach kids about the evils of the internet (no, seriously). Well, now it’s looking like perhaps they did a bit more than just spamming if they’re being accused of phishing as well. Makes you wonder what he’s going to do this time to show he’s sorry.
