Recognizing Spectrum Interference As A Problem
While there are some people who are still insisting that spectrum interference isn’t a problem in open spectrum areas, it looks like others are starting to realize it’s a major issue. In fact, just as I started writing up this post, I lost my WiFi connection. I don’t know if it’s interference, but my computer sees seven different WiFi access points from where I am, and when I plug in via ethernet, everything is working just fine again. One big innovation that needs to hit the open spectrum arena is a better system for avoiding interference problems. We’ve been able to get away with it for a while, but with so many systems using the available spectrum, there are going to be more and more problems.
