Not The World's First Mobile Phone Film Festival
Wired News has a story about a producer of independent films and festivals who is setting up what they call the world’s first mobile phone film festival. It’s a nice idea, in a gimmicky kind of way, but there have been other cell phone film festivals in the past. While I’m all for the idea of encouraging camera phone usage, but it’s not clear that this is really the best method. The idea shouldn’t be about coming up with “movies” for mobile phones, but applications and services that actually leverage the phone to show how useful mobile phones can be.
