Wireless Data Services Need To Be Easier
From the “hello, duh!” school of analyst work, we’re now being told that (no, seriously) if mobile carriers don’t make the wireless data service experience easy for users, they won’t use it. “If its not easy for me to get to my personalized content or to find my downloads, chances are I’m not going to come back,” is the quote from Yankee Group analyst Linda Barrabee. Now, it’s certainly true, but it’s said in a way to imply that carriers are purposely making the experience difficult. Sure, they need to make it easier, but everyone knows it. It’s just not always the easiest thing to come up with the perfect user interface for new services on a small screen.
