Big Companies Routinely Share Your Data

from the no-surprise-there dept

This shouldn’t be a huge surprise, but more than half of Fortune 100 companies share customer data without letting their customers know. Unfortunately, the article doesn’t get into any details, but focuses instead on the fact that many companies are really bad about responding to email requests. The one bit of semi-good news is that tech companies have gotten the message and appear to be much better about dealing with customer emails. Still, this interesting part is just how many “trustworthy” companies are out there sharing all your private info without even bothering to let you know in the fine print.
