Smart-Phone Market Race: Too Early To Call

Considering the market penetration so far of so-called “smart phones,” it seems a bit early to try to determine who’s “winning” the race, but it’s still interesting (if not very surprising) to see how it varies greatly by region. It appears to break along somewhat local lines. In Europe, Nokia is the leading smart phone device provider, while in the US, it’s PalmOne. They don’t say who’s leading in Asia, unfortunately. Still, PalmOne has almost no presence in Europe, while Nokia hasn’t done too badly in the US – so many have already written off PalmOne’s ability to conquer much of the overall market.
