Moblogging Use Fades

A study by an HP researcher seems to throw a bit of cold water on the whole moblogging phenomenon by pointing out that the longer people moblog, the fewer photos they post. I actually don’t think this is all that surprising or problematic. As with most new things, people tend to use them a lot at first and then fade out. Unlike regular blogging, moblogging has less pull to keep people engaged. People are used to talking to others every day, but less used to taking and showing pictures to others every day. Moblogging is a neat early application of camera phones, but certainly not the end of the road. If anything, moblogging applications will simply get integrated into larger blogging/content management applications where they belong.
