AT&T Wireless Customers Bailing As Fast As Possible

AT&T Wireless’s troubles continue. They certainly had a bad final quarter last year with various technical problems with their network and with number portability. Put on top of that the circus surrounding the selling of the company, and it should be no surprise that customers are deserting them at a rapid clip. Verizon Wireless is even gloating that they’ve won 10 customers from AT&T Wireless for every one they’ve lost. At this rate, there may not be many customers left when Cingular takes over the building. Still, it seems they’ve realized they’ve got a problem and are trying to stop the rampage towards the exit signs. It seems a bit late for them to have figured this out though. They’ve known that number portability was coming for years, and they apparently didn’t realize how much it would impact them.
