Wait A Little Longer For Your CD Settlement Money

from the waiting...-waiting...-waiting... dept

Earlier this year we talked about how anyone who made a claim in the recording industry price fixing case was likely to get $13. Having just received my Microsoft settlement claim notice, I started wondering whatever happened to the $13 the recording industry owes me? Thanks to today’s GMSV, I now know that the payment has been delayed and delayed and delayed as various consumer groups have appealed, saying the settlement is too low. Payment will go out once all the appeals have been exhausted – by which point many of the people who made claims as early as January of this year may have moved. I wonder how many of those checks (should they ever go out) will actually get cashed?
