Mforma Introduces Multiplayer Java/BREW Game

In an excellent report from RCR Wireless News, complete with an image of the game, we learn of Mforma’s multi-player IHRA Drag Racing J2ME phone handset game. Based on a Playstation game of the same name, the application will be available on Java-enabled phones from AT&T Wireless Services Inc., Cingular Wireless, Sprint PCS, T-Mobile USA Inc. It will also be available in BREW from Verizon Wireless. The game is a favorite of some operators, since users will not only pay to download it, but by using the network to play each other, incur network fees (I’m not sure how flat-rate data carriers like SprintPCS will see that). To keep it interesting, the multiplayer part of the game has a leader board, standings, and the possibility of some community fame among gamers. This sort of gaming has been quite popular in Asia.
