Vivato Loses A CEO

Since their WiFi switch was first announced a while back, there has been a definite buzz around Vivato. People started talking about the idea of using Vivato switches to make WiFi a true wide-area wireless networking technology – covering whole cities for not very much money. Since then, some of the buzz has died down, but plenty of people keep looking to Vivato as the WiFi switch company to watch. However, despite raising lots of cash this summer, the company continues to go through some shaking up. There were the layoffs in August along with a shakeup of the management team to give them a bit more of a business focus – and today comes the news that the company’s CEO is stepping aside. From everything, it sounds like typical start-up growing pains after receiving lots of cash and that golden handshake from venture capitalists. It happens to lots of companies, but some survive the rocky road better than others. The fact that Ken Biba left before they even found a replacement is generally a bad sign, but hopefully they can pull things together.
