Email Is The Cholesterol Of Modern Business
from the and-we-need-more-exercise dept
A good followup to the earlier post today about fixing the email problem. It seems that others agree that part of the problem is that too many people are trying to do things over email that would be better served via other methods. The problem isn’t so much email itself – but that email is so quick and easy that people are trying to do everything with it. What needs to be done is to start making better use of other applications to spread some of the burden while making certain processes more efficient. Of course, one popular choice as an “email replacement” is instant messaging, but (thankfully!) many people are realizing, while it’s a useful complementary technology, it doesn’t make sense to completely replace email with it.
