Nokia Teams With Visa For M-Commerce

Perfect timing. Following yesterday’s story about mobile phones being used for micropayments comes the news that Nokia has teamed up with Visa to let Nokia phone users (in Europe) make credit card payments via their mobile phone. Of course, this is a bit different than the story yesterday, where such micropayments were just being added to the phone bill. This service is about storing your Visa information to make it easy to use your card in mobile applications. This is Visa’s way of fighting back against the over-the-phone micropayments. They’re trying to make it easier to keep using your credit card, rather than shifting all payments directly to the mobile phone.
