DoCoMo To Get Into The Credit Card Business
Does it seem surprising that DoCoMo is getting into the credit card business by buying one third of Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co? Not really, considering all of the effort put into pushing FeliCa. Of course, with studies suggesting people aren’t all that interested in using their phones as wallets, they may have to offer a bit more than just a straight wallet/credit card replacement. Derek adds: Don’t forget SK Telecom’s been in the credit card business for about 3 years with their Moneta Card.
