Micropayments Going Mobile

While there’s still plenty of debate over the question of micropayments being used for online content they certainly seem to be catching on in the mobile phone world. People are increasingly willing to pay for downloadable content – and, as such, are getting used to the idea of their mobile phone as an alternative wallet. It will be interesting to see whether the fascination with online fee-based content holds, or if it will be overtaken by open content – but the idea of people using their mobile phones to handle real-life payments seems more likely to stick. Who needs to carry around cash when you can just dial a few numbers on your phone instead?
