WiFi Used To Clear Oil Spills

The Inquirer reports on a novel use of WiFi. It appears that the Swedish coast guard needed a simple way to transfer large images taken by spotter planes of oil spills down to the coast guard boats so they know where they need to head. For now, they’ve settled on using WiFi to beam the images directly from the planes down to the ships. This solution is currently in tests. Talk about “war-flying”…
