Policeman Charged With Letting Mobile Phone Ring In Court
from the contempt! dept
As a man in an Indian court was being sentenced for letting his mobile phone ring during an earlier court battle, a ringing sound broke out in the court room. Turns out that a policeman in the court room also had left his mobile phone ringer on and someone called him at that inopportune time. The policeman now faces contempt charges as well. The article also mentions a similar case in the US where a woman was charged with contempt after her phone went off in a courtroom. I can’t wait (and I’m sure this will happen) until a judge brings his mobile phone into the court and it rings. Will the judge cite himself for contempt?

Wow, it’s so good to see that we have all the bugs worked out of our legal system and can now focus on the little nit-picky stuff that really doesn’t matter. Now if they would just start enforcing the knee-bending and ass-kissing rules (and what happened to the white wigs????)
