Everyone Makes Digital Blunders

from the how-embarrassing dept

Time and experience with the internet or other digital technologies hasn’t meant any decrease in folks making some sort of digitally influenced faux pas. It seems that just about everyone has a story of sending the wrong email to the wrong person, causing quite a bit of embarrassment. According to this study, 52% of people admitted to causing some sort of “digital blunder”, with the majority involving incorrectly addressed email. Another popular problem involves giving your spell-checker too much credit, and letting it make changes that you didn’t intend on important documents. It looks like most of these mistakes are of the “quick click” variety – where you end up clicking through on something without really looking at what you’re doing. Ah, the cost of convenience.
