Microsoft Considering Music Download Store

from the if-Apple-can-do-it... dept

Microsoft has always wanted to be a content delivery company. Now that they’ve seen how easy it was for Apple to set up their iTunes store, they’re thinking “why not us?” Of course, there are competitive issues. They’re supplying the technology for the BuyMusic.com store, who might not be thrilled if suddenly Microsoft is offering their own music download store. Microsoft, though, has a history of not caring too much when they decide to become competitive with partners. Still, while this article’s headline makes a big deal of it, it doesn’t sound like Microsoft has definite plans to create a music store of their own at this point.
