Europe Is Going Mad For i-mode

Don’t look now, but after a slow start, it appears that i-mode may actually be catching on in Europe. Both developers and end-users are starting to make use of it, and revenue is pouring in for both the content providers and the carriers. Of course, I still wonder how long this will last, as more mobile phones end up having full web access and higher speed data access. Certainly there may be some mobile-phone specific applications that it makes sense to offer via a proprietary system, but most basic content will come via the web.
