Thai Gamers Work Around Curfew

from the that-didn't-work-so-well dept

If the goal of the Thai internet gaming curfew was supposed to get people to go home and sleep, it appears to have failed. While it has made gamers angry, it’s also forced them to find other things to do when the game servers get shut down each night at 10pm. A number of them are simply switching over and playing LAN-games, PC-based games, or going onto IRC to chat. In other words, nothing has really changed, except they’re upset at the government. Sounds like a useful curfew.
