Wireless Companies Charge to Keep Phone Numbers

Fees, fees, fees, and more fees. It appears that now that the wireless carriers have lost their bid to prevent local number portability and E911 services from being required, they’re going to make it as big a pain as possible for users by charging extra fees to pay for the services. Of course, all these plans for extra fees ignores the fact that many earlier fees collected by local governments was used for something else such as dry cleaning, pens and new police boots. So, why is it that we now need to pay again for stuff that we’ve already been paying for when the money is misused?
