T-Mobile Content Features Emperor's New Clothes
Yesterday, Techdirt “un-covered” the story of the German motorist who was carnally distracted by a hitch-hiker. Today, things seem to be cooling off in Germany, since the raciest news was T-Mobile’s launch of erotic MMS content, in video clips of up to 15 seconds. The premium MMS service will also include Sports, Film, and music content. On a point of order, it should not be called MMS. Video content aggregated and delivered by the carrier to the subscriber is a video service. ‘Messaging’ implies content sent between subscribers. In completely unrelated news, T-Mobile USA announced the addition of Hotspots in 115 additional Starbucks in Arizona, Minnesota and Nevada. No word yet on whether there will be an “erotic” element to that service.
Techdirt is off for the holiday! We'll be back with our regular posts this weekend.
