Torvalds To Leave Transmeta, Join Linux Consortium

from the not-unexpected dept

I was recently talking to someone about Transmeta, and we were both wondering why Linus Torvalds was sticking around at the struggling chip-maker, when there must be so many more Linux-related opportunities for him. Apparently, he isn’t sticking around any longer. He’s announced that, since he’s spending so much time on Linux-related issues, and not nearly enough on his actual job, he’s leaving Transmeta to become the first fellow of the Open Source Development Lab. It will be interesting to see what happens when he can spend 100% of his time on Linux-related issues.
