Ericsson Sees WLAN Boosting Demand for Cell Phones

Once again, it really seems like it’s just the press and the analysts who believe there really is a “3G vs. WiFi” thing going on. Ericsson today said they believe that WiFi will boost the demand for mobile phones. Basically, their argument is that as people get used to high speed internet access in hotspots, it’s going to cause them to demand higher speed wide area wireless networks, boosting demand for 3G solutions.
