SMS Use Grows In The US

A new study has shown that, despite being a few years behind Europe and Asia when it comes to SMS text messaging, it’s beginning to catch on in the US, as well. However, the study also predicts (sticking with our theme of the week) that instant messaging is more likely to be the future of wireless text messaging in the US. With all the recent announcements trying to tie the two services together, I’d agree that this makes sense. Instant messaging is already so widespread in the US, with people already annoyed about having to keep multiple accounts on multiple platforms, that building on top of that probably makes a lot more sense for most users.
