Music Industry Hopes Mobile Phones Will Be New Revenue Source

As the music industry has struggled to figure out how to deal with the internet, they have started focusing on the mobile phone market instead. Certain musicians are experimenting with things like ringtones and screensavers, as well as using text messaging to alert their fans of news. It will be interesting to see how far they take this, since the music industry has a history of getting upset the minute they realize they don’t have control any more – which is something that could happen on mobile networks as well.
