Standards Groups Offer API For 3G M-Commerce
Realizing both that (a) competing mobile payment standards didn’t do anyone any good and (b) that the m-commerce world was still too small to bother fighting over, two different groups have teamed up to produce a single API for m-commerce over 3G networks. One of those groups is actually a combination of two other groups – so this is really bringing together 3 different groups to put together a standard. Of course, who knows if anyone will actually use that standard, but that’s a different issue altogether.
