TV Losing Ground To The Internet… Or Is It All Just Merging?

from the does-it-really-matter? dept

A new study in Canada suggests that our friendly neighbors to the north are increasingly

looking to the internet for entertainment and information, rather than TV. However, the cable companies take this info and try to spin it in a positive way. It appears that younger folks start to blur the lines between TV and internet – and see them all as one single entertainment/information source. They often end up watching TV and surfing the internet at the same time – whether on a single screen, or using two separate boxes. So, the cable companies think that’s great, because they still control the pipes into the house. However, if they think they’ll still have control of the content, they may be quite mistaken.
