The Sun, the Beach, the Wi-Fi.

Here’s the story of a company that is covering the shores of a resort lake with WiFi. The guy running the whole thing says it’s making him money – though, that’s mainly because he had most of the infrastructure set up already. He runs an underground data-center facility right next to the lake. So, he’s just offering up some of his excess bandwidth via WiFi – and charging $9/day for the privilege to resort-goers who can’t stand to be away. I wonder how they deal with sand kicked into laptops?
