Siemens: Wrong Number For MS Smartphone

Siemens’ head of mobile phones is saying that Microsoft is taking the wrong strategy on mobile phones. Specifically, he says they’re coming from too PC-centric a world – where one size fits all. In the mobile phone world, he believes it’s much more important to differentiate phone offerings for different segments of the market. I think that’s true, but I’m not convinced Microsoft doesn’t realize that either. There is something to be said for familiarity, and some customers really feel comfortable with a phone that has a familiar-looking OS.
